This allows for a frictionless operational approach and we are uniquely quick at standing up our services to meet the demands of the organizations we support.

  • The Blue Owl Group is a global advisory firm offering turnkey access to a collective of experienced, senior public policy and communications professionals. • At Blue Owl Group, a key metric we are looking for in our partnership is a commitment to positive impact and social responsibility, and the degree to which technology is seen as a key conduit to that impact. Our team is made up of a group of principled professionals with backgrounds in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. While we have seen both the good and the bad of technology, we believe in its unrivaled potential to create positive change and drive human progress. We are eager to partner with organizations who share this perspective.

  • We call ourselves the Blue Owl Group in homage to our previous roles within the first Twitter Public Policy & Policy Communications teams. In a Twitter culture typified by bird references, we adopted our team nickname, the Parliament of Owls.

We hope that if you ask government agencies, NGOs, journalists, or civil society organizations about Twitter’s first public policy team, they will say we were open and transparent, willing to engage, possessed a strong work ethic, and strove to put the best interests of the people who used the Twitter service front and center. People may not have always agreed with the company’s decisions–sometimes we didn’t either. But our hope is they trusted us and understood our ethics.

It’s this same spirit of trust, collaboration, and vision we want to bring to the work of the Blue Owl Group. The technology sector has lost its sense of optimism and values–the compelling story of the Internet as a vehicle for positive change is certainly not in a good place. We get the Internet we invest in and when it’s underserved, we’re underserved. We want to work with organizations that want to rebuild that story and to start to share a different vision of the future.

  • We want to work with clients that share our hope and optimism for technology, particularly the forces of decentralization, data protection, open source technologies and an open architecture Internet characterized by multistakeholder governance. It’s crazy to say, but these same principles inspired the early Internet. Our hope is that we can get back to some of that. We also want to develop a rich roster of NGOs, philanthropic, and commercial partners who share our view of the world–and our optimism.

We do not want to run a standard agency; many are broken and staid. Our decentralized and fully remote model can scale up to meet the moment. There is parity right across our team. We’re all senior advisors. This team has a wealth of experience, so expect us to be commenting in the media, creating policy proposals and papers, and leaning into the knotty conversations of the moment, including AI, open protocols, data protection, blockchain technologies, and climate change.

Too many agencies hide their talented people behind the curtain–that won’t be us.
