Carlos Cortes is a lawyer and journalist specializing in social media governance, communications, and journalism. He co-founded the Internet and society non-profit center Linterna Verde, hosts an online talk show, and currently serves on TikTok's Safety Advisory Council in LATAM.

Between 2015 and 2017, Carlos served as Twitter's Public Policy manager for Spanish-speaking Latin America.

He holds a law degree from Los Andes University (Colombia) and completed Master’s studies in Communications and Media Governance at the London School of Economics.
