Eugene Yi

Eugene Yi has a diverse work experience in various companies and organizations. In 2007, he started working at the United States Department of Defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense (Policy), where he served as the Country Director for China & Korea and later as a member of the Strategy, Plans, and Capabilities team. In 2009, he joined the U.S. Department of State, Embassy Beijing as a Political Officer. In 2013, Eugene transitioned to Twitter as the Head of Asia Public Policy. From 2016 to 2018, he worked at Google as a Policy Fellow. In 2016, he also became a Visiting Researcher at the MIT Media Lab, a role he held until 2020. In the same year, Eugene joined Hawkfish LLC as the Director of Product and later served as the National Digital Director for Mike Bloomberg's Presidential Campaign. In 2020, he joined Kuku Studios as the VP of Creative Development & Strategy. In 2022, Eugene co-founded Loci and assumed the role of Co-founder & CEO. Eugene concurrently continues his work as a Visiting Researcher at the MIT Media Lab. Throughout his career, Eugene has also served as a Board Director and Co-founder & President at Cortico.

Eugene Yi has a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Oxford, where he specialized in the field of Oxford Internet Institute. Prior to that, he obtained a Master in Public Affairs degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, where he studied in the School of Public and International Affairs.
